Seán has played the bagpipes for almost a quarter century. He began learning from the late John Duxbury and went on to study under Jimmy MacIntosh, MBE, and at the Balmoral School of Piping. Seán has won many piping awards across the eastern United States and in Canada.
Seán has played the bagpipes for many weddings. Some common musical arrangements are processing before the bridal party; processing before the bride; playing at the altar before the ceremony; processing out before the bride and groom; and playing as the guests leave the chapel area. Also not uncommon is having a bagpiper at your wedding reception, typically playing as or before the bridal party enters.
Seán has a variety of appropriately bright tunes he can play, and will be happy to discuss composing an original piece of music to commemorate your special event. And if he doesn't know the tune, he is more than happy to learn it (if it can be played on the bagpipes). Tunes learned to help make others' weddings more special include Wings' "Mull of Kintyre" and ABBA's "I Do, I Do, I Do."
