The Twentieth Century Club

The Twentieth Century Club was a beautiful location for a wedding reception. The food was spectacular, the venue gorgeous, and Gayle the event coordinator is a dream to work with! Book it if you can!

We were thrilled with The Twentieth Century Club and Gayle as the event manager! We were running quite a bit late from the ceremony and pictures, which pushed the cocktail hour longer than our already scheduled hour and a half, but when we arrived, Gayle still made sure that we had some time to regroup and relax before the reception entrance. Everything was set up just as we had discussed. The food was good - not as quite as good as our tasting, but still good and many guests raved about their meals. We chose to have a beer and wine only bar, but I wanted to have a signature drink as an alternative. Gayle suggested going with a punch instead to avoid people questioning why they couldn't then have other types of liquor if a signature drink was available and I am so happy with our choice to go with the punch. I asked for it to be peach in color and flavor to coordinate with our colors and it was fabulous!!! Finally, the atmosphere was just perfect! So many of our guests were just in awe of the beauty of TCC, which is also why we chose this place. To see it all come together with our vision was incredible. We would definitely choose The Twentieth Century Club again!

The Twentieth Century Club is a beautiful venue. It was different from your normal hall or hotel ballroom facility. Because the rooms were so beautiful, I didn't really have to worry about other decorations. I also chose the option of using both floors of the club. We had the cocktail hour and dancing in the ballroom and dinner in the dining room upstairs. It turned out really well. The only issue I really had was that I had booked my wedding a year earlier and the prices went up during that time. Although there wasn't a big change to the price of the food, the price of the alcohol went up. Alcohol is billed on a per drink basis, and quite a few of my guests told me how there drinks were cleared before they were finished. Needless to say, the alcohol bill was a little larger than I expected!Otherwise, I would recommend the venue as it is so unique & beautiful!

This venue was so beautiful and different you don't even need much else to decorate. Our guests were enchanted by the charming details in every corner from wall murals to spiral staircases, black lacquered dance floor to lavish dining room. The different spaces felt luxurious and elegant. Food was great - many guests said the "best wedding food they'd ever had" and the cake was pretty (although not to my specifications, still nice) and delicious. I recommend their in house pastry chef- the cake was half the price of the local 'high end' bakeries and just as good or better. I took one point off professionalism because a few staff were abrupt - less than gracious- to my guests at the wedding itself, even the to the best man! But Judy the manager is absolutely accomodating and pleasure to work with.

What an amazing place! So well kept and maintained and fantastic service. More people need to know what this club has to offer. Great photo opportunities. I had my reception on 2 floors and it was so much fun! Dinner was good. Manager was a pleasure to work with. Was able to get ready for my wedding there too! So many rooms and great open spaces. Would highly recommend...especially for the value!

Beautiful hidden gem in Oakland. Very classy and sophisticated appeal and everything went very smoothly.
