A Simple Vow

Reverend Mark made our wedding day such a memorable moment. We decided to elope because my husband is getting deployed. We already had a big resort wedding planned, but needed to finalize the legal paperwork beforehand, so we decided to elope. We found Reverend Mark on his website, and we feel truly blessed that we did. The words he spoke during our ceremony couldn't have been more appropriate, or more heartfelt, if they were written by us. He was so accommodating, allowing us to get married on a Thursday night, the very week we contacted him. He graciously offered his home for the ceremony, and was patient when we were running late. His wife answered the phone when I called, and she was very sweet and understanding. I'm so glad we went with him. Now my husband and I have two wedding dates to celebrate, and a personal ceremony to fondly remember. Thank you, Reverend Mark and asimplevow.org.

We simply can't say enough good things about Rev Mark and Jeanie. They were wonderful throughout the entire process--from our initial meeting to planning the ceremony to the wedding day! Rev Mark always responded to us quickly and thoughtfully. We did not have a traditional ceremony and were initially a little nervous about the process of creating one. Rev Mark helped to create a ceremony that was truly a reflection of us a couple and was, simply, everything we wanted it to be. Rev Mark is warm, genuine, and funny--the perfect mix for our ceremony. Not only did we love him but our guests loved him too! In fact, many of our guests thought that we had known him forever and commented on the personal touches in our ceremony. Reverend Mark and his wife, Jeannie, are incredible. They are supportive, open and kind, and they guide nervous couples through the marriage process seamlessly. They have such a love for each other and their happiness just radiates. You can't help but feel happy around them. When I visited their website for the first time, the first thing I saw was a Shel Silverstein quote from his poem "Hug O' War" and I immediately felt compelled to research them more. When I came across another quote on their website saying that they believed everyone, regardless of race, creed, gender or sexual orientation, deserved a beautiful wedding, I knew I'd found our officiant. They created an absolutely beautiful, personal ceremony for me and my husband and it really made the day so incredibly lovely. It was the right amount of sentimentality, humor and romance. It was just perfect. I cannot speak of this couple highly enough. Two wonderful human beings. We were so lucky to have found them. Mark & Jeanie were absolutely wonderful! They listened to what we wanted for *our* wedding, what was best a reflection of us as a couple... and crafted the perfect ceremony for us! We first met Mark and Jeanie back in June, a few months before the actual ceremony. They were very warm and cordial and put us at ease immediately. It was an informal get together where they got to know us personally while also helping to steer us toward possibilities for our wedding. During the next few months, we touched base with them several times via email to gain advice as well as to solidify the plans for our big day. On the day of the actual ceremony, both of them were enormously helpful by guiding people to where they were supposed to be as well as maintaining a semblance of order as we were pulled in many different directions. Mark again put as at ease with his affable nature while performing the ceremony, making us as comfortable as possible. Not only would we highly recommend them, there were many guests that night who personally told us how much they liked the way their contributions made everything smoother as well as fun! We absolutely loved Jeannie and Mark. They are so friendly and organized. Mark provided us with the most important part of our wedding day - the ceremony. We had people come up to us after the ceremony and ask how long Mark was our Reverend because he provided such an intimate sermon. I highly recommend A Simple Vow!

I Just Wanted to say how happy we were with our ceremony under the circumstance. You took into account of everything when it came to the comfort level for my husband. Elopement wasnt our first choice but you made it special. Our guest were in awwww of how personnel and caring you both were. In the future when we renew our vows you will be our first choice. I don't think I can say enough nice things about Mark and Jeanie. They went above and beyond our expectations to make our special day memorable. When we first got in touch with Mark we had some general requirements for the wedding ceremony, but had not thought through all of the specifics. Mark was very accommodating and provided us with lots of suggestions and assistance in planning out our ceremony. In the end, it was perfect for us and this is largely due to Mark's suggestions. He encouraged us to try writing personal vows when we were initially uncertain (something that looking back, we're really happy we did) and he based his introduction on a quote which was so perfect for me and my husband that most of our friends and family assumed that we picked it out ourselves. Mark has a charm and presence that helped make our wedding personal, charming and fun. Jeanie was also very involved in the preparation and even took some extra wedding pictures for us on the day.

Mark and Jeanie were both great. Everyone at our ceremony loved Mark and the sense of humor and personal feel he brought. Jeanie was so helpful in making sure we all got to where we needed to be and when :-) When it came to choosing our ceremony, reading selections and vows, Mark provided so many different options and helped guide us in picking the selections that worked for us. We would absolutely recommend A Simple Vow!

Mark and Jeanie were fantastic to work with! Its hard to know where to start! They had so many options to choose from to add to our ceremony to make it meaningful for us that my husband and I were not sure we could pick, but with their help we worked out a ceremony that was most definitely us! Jeanie also did our fruit and vegetable cocktail hour trays, I didn't get to see them in person but everyone loved them and the pictures of them look fantastic! Such a great job! The rehearsal was such a nice option to have available to us, it really helped us (at least me) really not feel nervous. We could not have picked a better officiant and wife ;) to marry us. I was looking for someone who could perform a non-religious ceremony, but would still be able to help us personalize something that was more than just a quick Justice of the Peace civil ceremony. My husband & I weren't interested in having a friend or family member perform the ceremony, so we were scrambling to find someone. Cost was also a HUGE factor, because we were paying for the majority of the wedding ourselves. Every other company or officiant that I found that seemed to show promise were $500 or higher. I was SO happy when I found A Simple Vow through a friend - they had booked Mark & Jeanie for their wedding, and the day after their wedding, I was looking up A Simple Vow and contacting them about MY wedding. Mark & Jeanie met with us and worked with us on the ceremony, going through multiple drafts and revising and RE-revising everytime I changed something...at least 3 or 4 times. What we ended up with was an officiant and a coordinator that really made our wedding ceremony amazing, perfect, and about US. With 4 bridesmaids, 4 groomsmen, 2 flower girls, 1 Mother of the Bride, 1 Father of the Bride, and 1 Mother of the Groom, Jeanie kept everyone under control, everything on schedule, organized, and she took pictures of the ceremony too! Mark did a FANTASTIC job with the ceremony itself - we received SO many compliments on the ceremony, and I know it would not have been NEARLY as fabulous with any other officiant. If you are looking for an officiant, you CANNOT go wrong with A Simple Vow. Below is an email I sent to Mark & Jeanie shortly after we got back from our honeymoon. Mark & Jeannie - Hello! I know it is late (or early, depending on how you look at it) but we just returned from our honeymoon a few days ago and I am still stuck on Hawaii time, so it feels like 930pm to me! I am sending notes out to everyone in the next few days, but I wanted to take a moment and thank you for the OUTSTANDING job both of you did for our wedding. My husband and I were so thrilled with everything....ok, I was thrilled. Boys don't get 'thrilled' but he was as close to thrilled as a guy gets. The two of you were amazing from start to finish - throughout the planning process, with all of my last minute changes, with certain members of our families making things not so easy.... I just cannot tell how easy and effortless you both made the actual wedding part of our day. I had problems with several vendors on my wedding day, but everything went perfectly with our ceremony, mainly because of the two of you. My father, who I didn't really expect to enjoy any of my wedding day, LOVED the ceremony and couldnt say enough about what a great job you did. My mother was VERY worried about how the ceremony was going to be - she couldnt wrap her mind around anything except the words "civil ceremony" and kept picturing some type of quickie J.O.P. ceremony - she was VERY surprised and VERY happy with how our wedding was. And his mom....all I can say is WOW. Even I was ready to kill her (or at least send her home) by midmorning, but Jeannie, you handled her better than anyone else could! We received SO MANY compliments on the ceremony itself - how it fit US and it was the perfect mix of serious and lighthearted. Our wedding ceremony was everything we could've asked for, and more....Again, thank you SO much!

I cannot express how delighted my guests, my husband and I were with the services provided by Rev Mark and Jeanine. Our ceremony was personalized and beautifully touching. Rev Mark surprised us with a phenomenal lead up to our first kiss, and it was the most memorable part of my wedding! For weeks afterwards my guests were commenting on how perfect the ceremony was and how well it reflected our personality. On a personal level, we found Mark and Jeanine wonderful to deal with. They were responsive to our wants and needs and were amazingly helpful. I would 100% recommend A Simple Vow to anyone getting married.

Rev. Mark was one of the best choices we made when planning our wedding. He listened to everything we said during our meeting and took that information and his ceremony was so "us". We could not have asked for anyone better. He and Jeanie were so easy to work with and helped make our day as perfect as it was!!!!

Rev Mark is absolutely amazing he is very easy going. He makes the ceremony planning fun and easy. He helped my husband and I plan a beautiful ceremony that was heartfelt and fun. His wife Jeannie was also amazing. She takes amazing photos. If you are looking for an inexpensive photographer that is still amazing she is who you need! She also made our hand fasting cord which was beautiful. She was also invovled in every step of the planning, along with the coordinating the rehearsal and playing the part of our day of coordinator. This couple is definately the best vendor we dealt with during our wedding planning. They were amazing!!!

Jeanie and Mark are such a power team. Mark really makes sure he gets to know the couple so he can incorporate details to create a very intimate and warm ceremony. He was so helpful in planning our ceremony, yet gave us the freedom to write part of the ceremony so it was the perfect balance. I completely trusted Jeanie to get all of our bridal party and guests in order at the rehearsal and actual ceremony. We had to revert to Plan B due to inclimate weather and Jeanie sprung to action by lining everyone up and making sure the ceremony ran smoothly. I would definitely recommend A Simple Vow to future brides/husbands!
