Monteverde Catering

Monteverde's was an absolute delight to deal with from beginning to end. As soon as we showed an interest, Debbie ensured we tried all the foods we were interested in and gaves us enough to take home. Also, not only did we change our date, but also changed our venue just months prior to the wedding, and Debbie made everything work out wonderfully. Monteverde's even accomodated our decorating needs! We decorated our venue two days before the wedding and the girls brought all of our linens (and folded them beautifully) early just so we could decorate. It helped give such ease to the decorating, I don't know what I would've done without them! For the actual day of the wedding, the food was spectacular. What made it even better, was the raves we were getting still two weeks after the wedding about the delicious food! The service was above the rest. We unfortunately didn't have the world's best bartender from the reception venue and Kelly jumped right in behind the bar to please my guests - I was shocked! It definitely helped improve the night and Joe and I were so thrilled to have used their services. If you're looking for a family oriented and honest service with wonderful food among many other things on your wedding day, CHOOSE MONTEVERDE'S!! You WILL NOT be disappointed! :) Thank you ladies (and husbands) for making our wedding absolutely perfect, we LOVE you! :)

Monteverde Catering did a fantastic job catering our wedding! From start to finish, they put a lot of care into making our reception as delicious as it was fun. We chose a buffet style meal with choices of top round of beef, stuffed chicken, baked ham with pineapple sauce, rigatoni, parsley potatoes, and green beans with almonds. Everyone commented on how tender the beef was and how much the pineapple sauce complimented the ham. The catering staff was very professional and friendly; it seemed as though they were having as much fun as we were, yet they maintained their professionalism. My only complaint is that we had tons of cookies that were made by friends and family, and many of them were not served. They probably could have done a better job of traying a variety of cookies to put out because I felt bad for those whose cookies we simply took home. All in all, I would highly recommend Monteverde Catering to anyone getting married in the Pittsburgh area. Simply be sure to clearly communicate your expectations, as is the case for any vendor. Monteverde catering was AMAZING!!! Not only was the food delicious, but the staff was so accomodating & friendly & wonderful. They made my day PERFECT!! People are still talking about the food and my wedding was 2 weeks ago. I would recommend them to EVERYONE!!!

Monteverde's did an excellent job with the catering for our wedding for approx 160 people. We did a buffet and the food was fresh and hot the entire time. The staff was professional and Debby always answered e-mails and phone calls any time we had questions about the day! I would highly recommend Monteverde's for any catering!

We were so thrilled with Monteverde catering. Debra was wonderful and worked with all of the little tweaks and substitutions that we wanted up to even the day before our wedding. She and her staff always replied with a smile and a fast response, which as any bride knows is very important when you're waiting on answers from 100 different vendors. They went above and beyond for us by decorating the tables, setting up for us and even thought up the idea of doing a kiddie station at our wedding which we had not thought of before. The staff was friendly and helpful at our wedding and they really helped make the day wonderful and much less stressful.

The Monteverde family was a pleasure to work with. From the very beginning with our sample tasting all the way to the day itself. Debbie and Kelly Monteverde were accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful in every way. This was our very first wedding and I appreciated their guidance very much. On the day of the wedding, the staff was well groomed, helpful, courteous and above all professional. We held our wedding and reception in a firehall and they even went above and beyond to help us clear out the chairs after the ceremony was over. The food was excellent and the price was very reasonable. People that normally don't like particular kinds of foods were even won over just by the quality of the preparation. I would highly recommend Monterverde. Debra was great to work with and gave my husband and I some suggestions that saved us money. The food was OUTSTANDING. I received so many compliments after our wedding. Everyone said it wasn't your average wedding buffet food, and it was restaurant quality. The pricing was also great for the quality of food.

Kelly and Debbie Monteverde were wonderful. They were attentive, friendly, professional and fun. I never had to wait for a response and not once did I see them without a smile. I cannot say enough about their service and the Food was wonderful too! When my husband and I first started reviewing caterer’s their menu was one of the first that caught our eye. There are the normal “stuffed chicken” and “Roast Beef” but there were also a few non-traditional things like a seafood medley in pastry and some very original beef dish. We decided to call and make an appointment. I contacted Debbie with some questions and received a response the same day. They were very flexible with our schedules (neither of us could arrive until late evening) and they offered for us to bring as many people as we wanted. I had told them that we wanted something different and that we were open to anything but I eventually chose 3 dishes to try because I thought everyone would enjoy them. When we first arrived the office threw us off a bit, we had to walk through the kitchen and were seated at a small table in their office. We were a little cramped but they were very hospitable, and the smell was amazing! I realized later that it was a good thing to walk through their kitchen, they had nothing to hide, the facility was very very clean. Debbie and her daughter Kelley started to serve us dinner, they had told us to bring an appetite but I didn’t know I needed a whole other stomach. There was so much food. Not only did they prepare the 3 dishes that I had requested but they added another three or four items that they thought I might like to try. The food was amazing. The chicken was moist, the puffed pastry was fluffy, their sauce so flavorful. In the end they ended up changing my mind and I went with one of the options they chose. And afterwards they packed up the leftovers and sent them home with us. We had lunch and dinner the next day!When the wedding did roll around the set up was perfect. Everyone in the buffet line was attentive and welcoming. The food was great, and we are still getting compliments. The staff dismissed each table with ease and afterwards cleared each just as quickly, they also offered to box up the leftovers for us. Our cake was cut and served quickly and the clean up seemed to happen without me noticing. I did not have to worry once about anything and that was invaluable. My husband and I spoke to and tried other caterers but I never once regretted choosing Monteverdes!

If you are looking for an excellent caterer for your wedding, Montervede's is who you want. The food was excellent and we received many many great compliments on the food. The staff is very professional but at the same time very friendly. Everything ran smoothly and all of our guest were able to eat at the same time. No waiting , no cold food, no complaints. We would highly recommend Monteverde's for your wedding, or any catering need. We used them for our rehearsal dinner and wedding. We received rave reviews on the food from our guests and Monteverde's went above and beyond to ensure our wedding was a huge success. They accommodated our multiple dietary restrictions within the wedding party - and the food was delicious!

Monteverde Catering was wonderful to work with. The food was delicious and everyone commented on how good it was. Everyone was quickly dismissed to the buffet for dinner which sped things along great for the night. The service was also very friendly and even at one point helped me find a hair salon for the big day! I would definitely recommend this vendor!

I chose my venue (Mayernik Center) in part because of the great reviews I read about Monteverde's. They were just as fantastic as advertised. Super nice people, super tasty food -- I especially recommend the Swedish meatball appetizers -- and they accommodated a guest who, we learned at the last minute, was vegetarian.

Deb and her staff are great! Everything turned out delecious and was warm the entire time! There was plenty of food for us to take home afterwards and no one went hungry. Everything looked professional and neat! I would recommend them to anyone!

We used Monteverde Catering for our wedding reception at the Mayernik Center. I cannot say enough good things about them. Everything was just fabulous! The food was delicious – they have a “home cooked” kind of style which we really loved. We received so many compliments about the food. They are very well priced for the excellent quality. Debbie and her staff went out of their way to provide a little “extra service” – they incorporated some of our decorations into the appetizer and coffee service tables, they packed up a special container of wedding cookies for the bride & groom, they kept the food out so that our cousin who was arriving late because of her job could enjoy a hot meal, and they packed up our leftovers and labeled everything. Throughout the reception the staff was friendly and welcoming to our guests, and they even helped to clean-up the venue when the reception was over. If ever we need a caterer for any kind of event – Monteverde’s will be the first people that we call!

Food was fantastic and Monteverde was great to work with. Price was an awesome value and we enjoyed the variety of options.

debbie was amazing. her and her staff went out of the way to add special little touches to our christmas wedding to make it perfect. she was accomodating to what myself & my husband wanted, and was very flexible. i had several guests tell me at the reception that it was the best wedding food they have ever had! without a doubt, i would reccomend them in the future

I have a life-threatening allergy to eggs and any ingredient with eggs. I also have a life-threatening reaction to smelling anything with eggs. Monteverde Catering worked for hours with me going over every ingredient in each item we were serving for both the Rehearsal Dinner and the Reception. They did this with concern and the desire to provide a safe environment for me. Their caring for me--and for 150 of our guests--makes them a premiere caterer. They were creative in adapting menu items with eggs and coming up with delicious alternatives. The result of their efforts was two events that guests thoroughly enjoyed.
