This place is your one stop shop. This place has everything you can imagine - outdoor space, gorgeous ballroom, absolutely to die for food and cake (we had our rehearsal dinner and next day brunch), bar and grill, even a spa you can get your hair done right there or to get a massage the day of. We had our wedding outside on the perfect fall day with the leaves changing as our backdrop. The Hampton Inn is literally next door. Chestnut Ridge Resort was like a destination wedding, only less expensive and just amazing! We were very lucky to have had our wedding here. The staff and service was just sugar on top. Everybody was patient, very easy going and accommodating. All of our guests had a great time. We would Highly recommended!!

I had a rather short time frame when it came to planning my wedding which I thought would make things a bit more difficult for me, in comparison to the average bride. However, Chestnut Ridge was amazing from the very start. Each and every one of their staff members was completely responsive to my every need. My wedding day passed by without a flaw thanks to Chestnut Ridge. I would refer anyone and everyone to have their special day here.

Chestnut Ridge is a beautiful location to have your wedding and reception. The staff are professional and no detail is left ignored. The head waiter at our wedding made a plate of treats from the chocolate fountain for me so my dress would not get ruined and even packed up all our decorations and loaded them into the car. The food is excellent and the cake was to die for!! We received nothing but the best comments about our wedding day from our guests. Chesnut Ridge is THE best location to have a 5 star event!

This resort is your one stop shop. They have beautifully landscaped grounds, and a permanent gorgeous tent to have your ceremony in. They also have a spa in the resort, as well as a wii bar (great place for the guys to hang out on the wedding day). They also have two golf courses which they will also let you take golf carts around for pictures!! They will also make your cake for you and they did a wonderful job with ours. There is also a Hampton Inn a few feet away from the resort so that guests do not have to travel after the celebration. The personalized service you get is incredible. They will also provide the bride and groom with a bridal butler who will cater to your food and drink needs all night. Great people to work with and great value for the cost. Highly recommended!!

Spa didn't offer us the use of the Wiis or tvs...which would have helped as one of the 2 hairstylists called out sick. Though one lady helped with some of the makeup, one woman had to do 8 ladies' hair and makeup (who was wonderful) for the most part. My sister ended up doing her own. Spa staff made it seem as we'd have all the time we needed, but took appointments for regulars even when this scheduling problem happened, leading me to be crunched for time getting ready. Just clarify everything with them to prevent this! The event planner said the bar of the resort would be open after the reception for our guests...but it wasn't, and I didn't find out until about 30 minutes prior to the end of the reception. By this time, the planner was gone. This was VERY frustrating for obvious reasons.Lesson, make sure you re-confirm everything before the big day...though this may be obvious, it is so easy to forget these things (I wasn't the most organized; I'm in grad school, was applying for internship & writing a dissertation while planning). Wasn't a lot of clarity regarding what I needed to take care of the day of the ceremony & what the staff would do...they really will do mostly everything, but I didn't know that until the day before/of.The good things: Similar to what everyone said. The venue is beautiful...both our ceremony and reception were there. Price is totally reasonable compared to other places. Food was delicious, cake was amazing, you can take in your own cake/cookies if you want, but their cake is awesome, we had almond and buttercream. Serving staff is great. Everyone LOVED it and we had an awesome time too.The hotel is also convenient.

Chestnut Ridge is a BEAUTIFUL venue for a wedding. Everything was reasonably priced (in Wedding Land, at least), and most of the people we dealt with throughout the planning process were polite and helpful. Overall, I was very happy with how things turned out, but that is not to say that there weren't things that I wish had gone differently. The primary problem was that we signed our contract with one Catering Sales Manager, but by the time our wedding rolled around 15 months later, Manager #1 had left, and Manager #2 was unable to honor some of what Manager #1 promised (i.e. AC in the tent). My husband and I found this very disappointing to say the least. Manager #2 was nice enough, but we both felt that she was a bit inexperienced in the planning process and often seemed overwhelmed, which is certainly not what you'd hope to work with while planning your one special day.My bridesmaids and I patronized CR's Spa and Salon several times leading up to my wedding in an effort to become comfortable with the staff. We did have some problems with them being disorganized. Even though my now sister-in-law arranged my bachelorette party well in advance with them, and even called to confirm all appointments multiple times (she is in the hotel and hospitality business herself), their staff (who are very nice) acted as though they were confused when we arrived. Once they figured out what was going on, the day was great. The services and atmosphere were relaxing and wonderful. I have germ issues, but the salon was extremely clean.I'm not sure what happened the day of the wedding, but again, the salon staff was majorly disorganized. They told us to arrive by 11am, which gave us three and a half hours to get ready, but there were only two girls available to do hair and one make-up artist for all nine of us! My sister had to straighten her own hair to save time for the hairstylists, and my MIL never got her hair done at all! For the girls, most of the time at the salon was spent cooling their heels while they waited their turn, which was not the case for me, of course. My husband and I decided to have our ceremony in the white tent that is located right off of the golf course behind the club house. We were worried that the tent would look stark in the pictures, but it was absolutely amazing! CR offers a riser-like platform that put us above our guests so that they were easily able to see us during the ceremony, which was perfect. The rental chairs were tasteful and sturdy. Other than the little AC snafu, we have absolutely NO complaints about the tent! Finally, having the Hampton Inn located directly adjacent to the resort makes this venue truly a one stop shop for your wedding day. However, please be advised that if you plan to provide gift bags for guests that are staying at the Hampton, they have a "new" policy that you must write each guests name on their bag or they will not hand them out. Obviously, they have had issues with forgetting to give guests gift bags and have been reprimanded for it in the past. While I can totally understand their hesitancy, I was not informed of this rule until the day before my wedding. I was unable to label each of the 150 bags because I didn't know which guests exactly were staying there ... the front desk told me who the rooms were reserved under, but I had many single friends who ultimately decided to stay with other friends, and therefore, their names were not listed. Had I known in advance, I would have just labeled every bag with an RSVPd guest's name and hoped for the best (though I do wonder how the hotel would have handled the cluster-you-know-what that would have resulted from sifting through 150 bags to find the correct name during check-in?). Granted, this was a minor setback, but annoying nonetheless. Ultimately, more than half of the bags went unclaimed, which was wasted money and time. I still don't see why the check-in staff couldn't say, "Are you with the Smith-Jones wedding? You are! Well, here's a gift bag!" That would have made so much more sense. Regardless, I would recommend Chestnut Ridge Golf Resort to friends for a wedding or similar affair. Our guests had a great time, and the atmosphere was beautiful (perhaps reupholstering the pink chairs is in order though! LOL!). Our pictures turned out amazing because of the many picturesque areas around the resort, and the serving staff was unrivaled in their attentiveness and elegance.
